CH Prinz Fuchs
(harl, blue carrier)
(Lord v Albrisrieden x Lilly-Huber), unregistered)
Born January 8, 1916
Owner: Andreas Brunner (Tipp-Topp kennels), Munich.
Breeder: Hans Fuchs, Schliersee.
Sometimes this dog’s name appears with “Fuchs” in parentheses, because it wasn’t a DDSB-registered kennel name, but the actual registration in Vol. VII doesn’t use them. As a matter of fact, CH Prinz Fuchs wasn’t registered until after he had acquired his championship – one of those which had to wait out the war.
There are twenty-one litters sired by him on record, all whelped between 1920 and 1922! He was used by some of the top harl breeders of the day – four times by his owner Andreas Brunner’s Tipp Topp kennels in Munich (producing, among others, the harl CH Ador Tipp Topp 4495) and twice by Joseph Stehberger’s v Obertraubling kennels.
Fritz Mezger, also of Munich, was the first to use him, twice in 1920 for his v Riesenfeld line and this, through Roland v Riesenfeld 3932 (a blue carrier harl) led to two influential champion grandsons for CH Prinz Fuchs – the harl CH Ador v Amalienborg and CH Harras Sauer 7526 (who should not be confused with the first Harras Sauer 3667 who was a harl son of Prinz vd Paulsburg 3615 out of the same dam CH Hero Sperberg 3650).
Prinz Fuchs spent his last years at England’s Ouborough kennels.
Fritz Mezger of v Riesenfeld also owned Ch Prinz Fuch’s sister, Diana Fuchs and used her for breeding.
Sire of CH Prinz Fuchs:
Lord v Albisrieden (harl) (Pan III, unregistered x Thilla v Albisrieden, unregistered) Born May 28, 1912 Breeder Albert Keller, Albisrieden, near Aurich, Switzerland
Loni v Limmatquai, unregistered, (Nero v Limmatquai, unregistered x Flora v Limmatquai, unregistered - mother/son breeding)
Loni was bred to her father and produced Thilla v Albisrieden.
Loni’s father was also her half-brother, she and her sire had the same dam – Flora v Limmatquai.
Lots of inbreeding here, but Loni was the dam of Thilla v Albisrieden – who was the dam of Lord v Albisrieden (sire of CH Prinz Fuchs)
Dam of Ch Prinz Fuchs:
Lilly-Huber (unregistered) (Fels v Nahetal x CH Wanda-Huber) (dam of CH Prinz Fuchs)
Flora-Ulm 1041 (harl) (Caesar-Ulm, unregistered x Flora [Reutter][Mehrstetten], unregistered – brother/sister breeding) Flora-Ulm was not only a product of a brother/sister breeding, but she was bred to her own father Caesar-Ulm and produced Bella v Schwennigen – dam of Cora-Huber – dam of CH Wanda-Huber - dam of Lilly-Huber – dam of Ch Prinz Fuchs.
