Names in Alphabetical Order:
The information is offered (roughly) alphabetically rather than in the standard pedigree form; so each dog can be looked up separately and quickly.
Or “no pups registered” and even “was not bred” – simply means that nothing showed up in the German studbooks as registered. It should not be assumed that these dogs were not worthy of breeding; they could have died of a puppy illness – which is especially indicative if a whole litter had no progeny recorded. Or they could have been bred and the offspring just not registered – which was extremely common.
German Spelling & Misspellings
Be sure to check both the German & American spellings, ie:

b <-> ss ie Mebter vs Messter (There is a German symbol that looks like a “b”, but actually indicates “ss”.)
Umlauts are two little dots placed over some vowels “a”, “o” or “u”. When an umlaut is unavailable, an “e” is put after the vowel concerned – changing Casar to Caesar, Plotzer to Ploetzer, Rhon to Rhoen, etc. Some folks added the “e”, some didn’t – so be sure to check both spellings, ie “Casar” & “Caesar”
Often the “h” of “th” (as in Blauthal) was not pronounced and often dropped, (making it Blautal). This occurs in many words; it seems the “th” was a bit old-fashioned and was gradually being made into a simple “t”.
Much of the information was taken from the original German studbooks, which were handwritten – often illegibly; therefore some of the names have a slight discrepancy of spelling.

Adda v Wendenburg (fawn, blue carrier) ( Ador v Dornburg x Edda v Dornburg) Born June 1, 1919 Breeder: Rudolf Kistritz, Wormstedt b. Apolda. Owner Heinrich Rucker, Frankenback; Heinrich Ruecker’s DDC-registered kennel name was “v Leimbachthal.” Adda was of pure Dornburg breeding. Adda v Wendenburg (fawn) was bred to her brother Alex v Wendenburg (also fawn) and produced a black/blue litter – which may have been possible genetically if the “ee” maskless fawn was at work. [A Hexengold litter out of Alex’s granddaughter contained Carmen Hexengold precisely registered by Carl Narbe himself as “fawn without mask” (“gelbe, ohne Maske”). ] The 3 pups out of Alex & Adda were born January 24, 1924 and were: Arko v Leimbachthal, black; Anni v Leimbachthal, black; and Ador v Leimbachthal, blue. Supposedly the 2 blacks & a blue came out of two fawn parents – both pure colorbreed for at least thirty years – at least as the extended pedigree shows. We might dismiss this as a bit of pedigree-fudging to cover up a misalliance, perhaps, if it weren’t for another bit of evidence, and the fact that the experienced and respected Max Schachtschabel was the owner of the sire. Before Adda went to Henrich Ruecker, her breeder Rudolf Kistritz had a litter out of her by Tasso v Sonnenberg (the brindle brother to CH Tantalus v Sonnenberg who was the fawn sire of CH Bosko vd Saalburg). This produced Dina v Wendenberg (fawn) plus three more fawns and three brindles, all very kosher. But then Dina went to Herr F. Ruroede’s “v Siegerburg” kennels and was bred to the blue Caesar v Blauthal coming up with six fawns, four blues, and a “drappfarben.” So in spite of her impeccable pedigree, she must have been a carrier – through her dam, Adda v Wendenburg, or perhaps her sire….likely her dam. Grandson of CH Prinz Fuchs and influential sire. Ador was bred to his daughter, Esther v Amalienborg and produced Nixe v Aarbachtal.
CH Ador-Colonia (fawn) (Leander-Colonia & Leo Harlequin, unregistered x Elvira-Colonia, unregistered) Born October 22, 1903. Owner: Heinrich Esser, Cologne in the Rhineland. Originally, Ador’s pedigree was submitted (by Herr Esser) with just Leander as the sire, however it was “corrected” (with documentation and sworn affirmations) by the DDC on August 13, 1910 at Cassel to add Leo as a sire. It is speculated that after Elvira was bred to Leo Harlequin – she had an accidental mating with her father, Leander-Colonia (or vice versa). At that time, genetics was thought to be inherited solely through the blood, and it is speculated that they thought Ador could carry the “blended blood” of both sires. However, the DDC also also said that because the old pedigree for Ador had gone out into the world through himself and his thousandfold children and grandchildren – that changing it was not practicable. Could this have meant that Ador’s actual sire was Leo and instead of changing the established pedigree, they just added Leo’s name? At this point, everything is speculation. Ador was bred to his daughter, CH Senta vd Duessel and produced Undine vd Duessel.

Ador Viktoria [of Send] (registered as “white-black-grey-blue spotted” – actually this dog was not “spotted” it was a “Plattenhund” – meaning large “plates” of color, not little spots) (CH Ador Tipp-Topp x Aga vd Ruhr) Born July 16, 1922 Owner: Send Kennels, England Breeder: Max Himmer, Mark Rettenbach near Memmingen Brother to Pilord. [have drawing of him, not a photo] Ador was an oddly-colored dog, who was registered under “Andersfarbige” (“Other Colors”) in DDSB Vol IX and described as “white-black-grey-blue spotted” (“weiss-schwarz-grau=blau gefleckt”). A lot of harls have a few patches of blue or merle, but there is an old photograph of this dog which is remarkable not only because of the colors – but because of their shape. Ador Viktoria was what is known in Germany as a “Plattenhund” – not with irregularly torn patches as in a true harlequin, but with large plates of color. In spite of this odd coloring, Ador was offered at public stud and was quite popular. He was the sire of the “regular” harlequin CH Ajax v Klaussenberg, whose harl sister Asta was the dam of CH Anny Tipp-Topp in Germany, as well as many other harlequins. Ador Viktoria was also the sire of Eng. CH Zarina of Sudbury (harl) in England, where he went to the huge Send Kennels and was called Ador Viktoria of Send.
